What a class looks like

Each 55-minute lesson starts with helping the child feel relaxed and safe in the water without any flotation aids, moves into stroke and skill work matched to the child's level, and finishes with the coach giving parents a summary of the day's progress.

Suited to children aged 2+, including those who are afraid of water or have not managed to learn to swim elsewhere. Families can pick private 1:1 for individual needs or small-group classes to build social skills through friendly peer interaction, at either public pools or clubhouses.

Curriculum & Progression

Structured curriculum

A structured, non-traditional programme with clear progression, taught without flotation aids and by a fixed coach: overcoming fear, building confidence, the four swimming strokes, self-rescue, plus optional development of coordination, cardiovascular fitness and competition training.

Learning Outcomes

Children overcome fear of water, gain confidence, learn the four swimming strokes and self-rescue skills, and develop coordination and cardiovascular fitness.

Children's swimming lessons for ages 2 and up, including kids who are afraid of water or have struggled to learn elsewhere. Black Shark teaches without flotation aids (no armbands or float vests), using a non-traditional, small-group method with fixed coaches and a clear, step-by-step progression; even 2-year-olds can often dive under water within the first one or two lessons. Each lesson runs 55 minutes and is priced by venue and class size. Public pool: private 1:1 HK$600, 1:2 HK$340/child, 1:3 HK$260/child; small group 1:4 HK$180/child. Clubhouse: 1:1 HK$900, 1:2 HK$480/child, 1:3 HK$330/child, 1:4 HK$280/child (further clubhouses — ask the coach for pricing). Lessons cover overcoming fear, building confidence, the four swimming strokes and self-rescue, with a summary given to parents after each session.

Before your first class

Message the coach in advance to arrange your preferred venue (public pool or clubhouse) and timeslot, and bring swimwear, goggles and a towel — no armbands or float vests are needed.
