What a class looks like
Each lesson is built around one picture book, mixing story vocabulary with phonics activities such as sound matching and sound hunts. Children then join a game or discussion about feelings and friendship, and finish with a related craft such as butterfly wings or a firefly sticker picture.

Suits 3–5 year olds starting phonics who enjoy stories and play, and who would like to build confidence speaking up and playing with others. Small classes of up to 8 children.

Curriculum & Progression
Structured curriculum
Four set lessons based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar (sound-picture matching and butterfly wings craft), The Very Lonely Firefly (inviting-friends game and firefly sticker craft), Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (animal sound hunt and picture-card sharing) and The Very Busy Spider (spider-web sound hunt and spider craft).
Learning Outcomes
Practise recognising sounds and matching them to letters; learn CVC reading and sound blending; express feelings and likes in simple English; practise inviting friends, taking turns and cooperating; and build confidence in speaking up and trying new things.
